My cleanser story coming to an end..

Hi lovelies,

Hope you are all doing well! First, please accept my sincere apologies for not having blogged in the past year and a half. There have been some changes in my life since I last blogged -I graduated, returned to Singapore from Dubai and worked there for a while until my husband got a transfer to London! So here I am in this lovely city with an exciting road ahead of me..

I have been wanting to get back to blogging, but I must say that it was motivation from loved ones and friends that made me switch from "wanting to" to "getting down to it"..Thanks a ton for your support!

Without further ado, as promised in my last post, here goes my product review on The Body Shop's Vitamin C Facial Cleansing Polish.

I bought the 100ml tube for $26.9 from The Body Shop Singapore (it is priced at £11 for 100ml in the UK). The packaging is brightly coloured and comes in a tube which is convenient to use. I absolutely love the smell (fresh & citrusy) and feel of the product on my skin.

As you can see in the picture above, the product has small particles suspended in the gel. They are nothing but jojoba micro beads that are used to gently exfoliate the skin. A small note on these beads - previously, The Body Shop used micro beads made of plastic in these products. Due to several campaigns against the use of these micro breads (they affect the entire eco-system as they are very tiny pieces of plastic that cannot be filtered out), The Body Shop replaced them with Jojoba micro beads which is a sustainable ingredient.

Now coming to the benefits, this product not only cleansed but also gently exfoliated my skin - and as a result, it got rid of the layers of dull skin and brightened my complexion. It didn't leave my skin feeling dry- so brownie point there. All in all, it completely invigorated my senses and kept me looking (and feeling) bright all day!

With that being said, it might surprise you that I no longer use this product! Initially, it did a great job of brightening my complexion. But, over the course of time, I felt that my skin got tired of using it and showed no further improvement. I was beginning to breakout again and wanted to switch to something more gentle. Also, I noticed that this product didn't help in fading blemish spots which I would have expected of a brightening cleanser.

Eventually guess what I got back to? "Drum rolls" My all time classic - The Body Shop Tea Tree Cleanser! I had  mentioned in an earlier post that I had been using the Tea Tree Cleanser for about two years before moving on to other products out of sheer boredom. But I have since realized that my skin loves this product so I am going back to where it all started.. I adore The Body Shop Tea Tree Cleanser and do not foresee myself switching to another cleanser in the near future ;)

And that is the end of my dramatic cleanser journey! Hope you enjoyed the different phases of my cleanser story and I would also love to hear your comments on your favorite cleansers.

Stay happy and blessed and look out for an interesting post very soon!
